Never take for granted

the splendor

of an autumn day,

to bask in the warmth

of a summery sun;

to view chrysanthemums,

ginger and gold

flourishing in clay pots

on open porches.

Trees are overspread with

silvery, undulating leaves.

Evergreens scent the woods

with spicy potpourri.
